SPAC is Pleased to Announce the 2009-2010 Locust Contemporary Dance Works I &II Company Members

After a very intense audition process the following dancers were chosen to represent SPAC's Premier Dance Companies for this year. LCDW will be going on tour to the Boston area to perform with the outstanding Legacy Dance Company under the direction of Thelma Goldberg in their Holiday Concert presented at the Regent Theatre. LCDW will also be a guest Company at the PeriDance Youth Fundraising Concert in NYC in 2010.

LCDWII will be the guest Company performing for World Aids Day in Stamford at the candlelight service. Both Companies will be taking a master class from world renowned Choreographer/Teacher Sheila Barker in October. Welcome Dancers!

Locust Contemporary Dance Works Mission Statement:
Locust Contemporary Dance Works is a touring jazz company with a ballet/modern influence, touching its audiences with groundbreaking choreography and imagery that inspires young and old alike. Locust Contemporary Dance Works provides a visual outlet for all walks of life and all levels of dance appreciation while bringing a highly emotional flair to the arena of company work. The company takes a serious approach to enlightening society with a straight forward look at jazz dance. Locust Contemporary Dance Works maintains a respect for the art of jazz and other techniques from yesterday and today.

LCDW's 2007 Sold Out Concert entitled Of Light and Temptation

Of Light And Temptation (The Poem)

The light of my eye reflects through my soul the true meaning of why I exist.
The light is He who is above me that shines so vividly and guides my every thought.
Temptation is also me, my old me, that walks the path when I am weak.
I make moving imagery so the light can find me and guide my visions to the clouds that embrace my being and make me complete.

Locust Contemporary Dance Works is proud to announce the success of their
SOLD OUT 2007 season concert entitled, "Of Light and Temptation," that premiered on March 10th at the Crystal Theatre in Norwalk, CT. Click here to read an article about the event! The dancers did an outstanding job, and the audience raved about all of the performances. BRAVO!
